Written Report and Recommendations
In three of our consulting tracks--the Integrated Planning Consultation, the Church Health Consultation, and the Church Conflict Consultation--a written report is the third phase. The first phase is an extensive self-study--a process of gathering information about the church's ministries, staff, facilities (if applicable), and finances that requires about a month of diligent work by church staff and ministry leaders.
The second phase is a four to six day site visit at the church by your consulting team which includes conversations with staff, ministry leaders, and some members of the congregation; study of the facilities (if applicable); attendance at worship and sometimes other ministry events; and approximately nine hours of vision-casting and equipping with a group of about 25 to 75 of your church's key leaders.
The third phase is development of a written report. Hillcrest Baptist Church of Columbus, Ohio, has given us permission to post their Report and Recommendations on our web site. While each church's written report is unique to them, their report can give you a sense of how our written report assesses and addresses a congregation's needs.
The fourth phase is implementation. The consulting team continues to work with the church to implement the plan and monitor progress for a number of months, up to a year, depending on the nature of the consultation. This always includes phone and email coaching. In some cases it also includes coaching visits to the church.
